About the artist: „Phil Rogers was born in 1951 in Newport in South Wales. In 1978 he moved to Rhayader in Mid Wales and began making pots full time. He is now a fellow and past Chair of the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain and has work represented in more than 50 museums worldwide including, amongst others, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Museum of Wales, Boston Museum of Fine Art, The Mint Museum of Craft in the USA and the Museums of Contemporary Ceramics in both Mino and Mashiko, Japan. Phil Rogers has written 4 books…three on various aspects of ceramics and a portfolio…he has also had a book written about him published in the USA. Currently he is using a two chamber wood fired kiln alongside a large oil fired kiln. He is planning to resurrect his use of salt glaze this year after an 8 year rest.“
Jahrhundert.
Next time I am in Aberystwyth I will certainly visit Phil in his Pottery and acquire one of these beautiful Chawans or maybe a Bowl or maybe both… 🙂
